Team product or service Description—Review the material in the Problem

Describe
your product or service idea. How does your concept solve a problem in the
marketplace? Is your solution unique? If not, how will you differentiate
yourselves from the existing competition? Make sure you identify the intended
target audience. Include a mission or value statement which outlines your
company’s guiding principles and priorities in delivering the product or
service. Your instructor will review this information to approve your business
idea.
I propose we write our paper
about a Wind Generation Manufacturing Plant.
With the coal-fired electrical plants creating additional pollution and
wind generation farms becoming more acceptable as a source of electricity, the
manufacture of the wind generators (windmills) is becoming a more competitive
marketplace. The current manufacturers
are finding flaws in their design that are creating dangerous sites when high
winds and tornadic activity is present.
The business could also fill
the void for suburban wind generators for use in residential areas. Currently, a residence must have a minimum of
3 acres of property to erect a residential wind generator. This is due to the design of the units
available for residential use.
If we decide, as a team, to
go with this idea, the Mission Statement could be:
“Home-Wind Bound is dedicated to bringing affordable, clean energy
for use in the single family home in any city, USA.”

Team Leadership:
One
person will be named the team/project leader to provide overall leadership and
continuity to the project.

Management:
Each deliverable will be assigned a component Manager.In the case of larger teams, you may assign more than one
person to a deliverable. In the case of smaller teams, the team lead may also

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
PLAN
a)
Meeting and Communication
Plan:How
often will you meet, and by what methods? How will you communicate between
meetings and distribute agenda items, follow-up items, or other required
communication?
Team
B will meet at least once a week in the iConnect Meeting. All other communication will be via Team B
Discussion, email, and telephone communications. Agenda items and other distribution items
will be found in the Team B Discussion area.
b)
Documents
and Change Management:How will documents be shared and stored? How
will you keep track of different drafts (versions) of the same document?
Documents will be
shared in the Team B Discussion area as attachments. Each team member will submit their document
with the date of submission and their name as part of the title. As each draft is updated, it will be assigned
a number; i.e. Draft 1, Draft 2, etc., submitted by Anita, Faidat, Michael,
etc. It will be the responsibility of
each Team member to track the Drafts for
final compilation.

V.
TEAM RULES
Create a list of rules to help you collaborate as a team,
including expectations about meetings, communication, course work, conflict
resolution, and so on, based on other elements of this charter.
TEAM B RULES
1.
The Team will use the Team Discussion area and iConnect Meetings as
their primary source of direct communication.
Additionally, Team B will utilize email and telephone communications, as
needed, to complete the project.
2. The
scheduling of the Team B meetings will use the availability schedule of each
member, as submitted in the Team Information section of the Team Charter, and
attempt to accommodate each member.
3.
If a Team B
member cannot attend a scheduled meeting, all work required for the meeting
will be submitted to the Team Leader at least one hour before the meeting
begins. Additionally, the work should be
submitted as an attachment in the Team Discussion area for all Team B members
to download. Notification of the absence
should be made to the Team Leader and all other Team B members.
4.
If a Team B
member misses a scheduled meeting, she/he must contact the Team Leader to
receive additional assignments made during the missed meeting.
5.
All Team B
members will:

others ideas with an open mind.

Participate
in discussions.

Accept the
group’s decisions, even if they are not your own.
·
All comments
made in the discussions will remain confidential to the team.
·
If there is
a conflict, resolve the issue immediately.
If a resolution cannot be found, discuss it with the Team Leader for
resolution. If necessary, take the
conflict to the Professor for resolution.

If you are
unable to complete a task or feel overwhelmed with the project assignment you
were given, talk to the Team Leader to get assistance.
6.
Each Team
member agrees to participate in the Project and give 100% to their assigned
tasks. Dedication and commitment by the
entire Team will enable the project to progress smoothly.
7.
If a family
emergency, illness, or other emergency arises, the Team member should notify
the Team Leader as quickly as possible to enable the entire Team to assist in
the completion of that portion of the project.
8.
The
submissions by Team B members should be of high quality with no grammatical
errors or misspellings. Any researched
materials must be submitted with references attached.

Operating Plan –Solar/Wind – Co-Generation Manufacturing plant
Introduction
Sun
and wind are the major sources of energy that are available readily at no cost.
New techniques need to be harnessed every day that assures smooth and efficient
utilization of solar and wind power. Solar power is produced by transforming
sunlight into electricity. Various tools and techniques are needed that forms
the ingredients of these transformations. The base transformation is done
through solar panels which are nothing but flat panels constituting thousands
of individual solar cells.
Industrial
advancements supporting solar energy has been witnessed at a large scale in the
last decade. Many green companies have set their vision to harness solar power and
make use of renewable energy sources. These companies strive to offer a
comprehensive array of renewable energy and eco-friendly products that enhances
the standard of living. However, a major concern is to compositely design such
sources that the community can afford, contribute effectively towards the community
by providing clean electricity with solar technology.
It is a given that coal-fired electrical plants
create additional pollution.To better safeguard and protect the environment,
wind and solar energy is the most acceptable source of electricity.
Our
focus will be to offer the best solar and wind solutions for green companies
targeting residential markets and individual consumers. With solar energy and
wind energysolutions, those companies will be able to provide affordable,
reliable, sustainable and safe products to the target market.
Day
to day operation
As
an e-commerce wholesale and retail business our operations will consist of
sourcing our products from order to fulfillment (supply chain), accounting sales,
marketing, service and installation.
There
will be different operating activities that will be needed to consider by the
company to have effective operations in the company.

Staff Selection:The
staff and employees will be carefully selected. Initially our core staff will be the business
partners until sales allow us to hire more staff (see Human Resource section)

Operations Manual:An
operations manual has been prepared to document and articulate the day-to-day
operational procedures of the center.
Services provided:The Company will have a
strong focus on selecting adequate and best services that will be provided to
the consumers.
Products used:Different analysis for
equipment and other aspects will be used purchase and sell residential
windmills and solar panels, as well as offer installation and maintenance
options.
Employee Orientation:All
employees will go through a three-hour orientation before they begin work,
where they will become acquainted with the operations manual and the philosophy
of the center.
Employee Education:Staff
members and teachers will routinely attend workshops and conferences to
understand current trends and technologies to use wind and solar energy as the
source of energy.
Human
resource
The
company will focus on employing about 20 professionals who will cater
generation of energy and developing the electricity through the wind and solar
resources.
All
the employees of different qualifications like electric engineer, marketing
manager, project development manager, technical manager.
A
strong focus will be given on different human resource policies like
motivation, performance appraisal, compensation and other aspects, which will
help in the development of the project and handling the day-to-day operations
of the company.
The
compensation and the salary package of the employees will be different as per
their skills and qualifications. With the high skills and qualification, the
compensation and salary package given to the employees will be high. The long
term plan formanagement is to recruit approximately 10 people whose cost and
benefit would range from $75000 to $100000 per year whereas the cost of the
support staff will range from $25000 to $350000. The staff will include the
labor that will be paid on a per hour basis apart from that, the staff will
also include permanent employees who will be paid a fixed salary.

Technology plan
The company will have a strong presence
across the US. The company will have a strong focus on information systems. As
the company will be having an integrated information system, the company will
provide unique user ID and password to the particular department so that they
are able to access the required information only and are not able to access the
whole data available on the system, the access for the complete data will be
available only to the owner of the company. With this, the company will be able
to have availability of the required data different available data.
The company will focus on building an
integrated information system for the organization, which takes into
consideration different aspects to ease the working of the organization. The
focus of the setup of the information structure, which will enable help in
improving the productivity and efficiency of the organization. Different
perspectives like the accounting, supply chain, marketing and operations will
be considered to improve the efficiency of the organization. With this, the
company will be able to have systematic data available across the organization.
The company should focus on developing
an integrated information structure, which has a common database, which will be
linked to all the service centers. The database built will be running on
integrated software, which will take, into consideration different domains.
Along with a strong focus on information
technology, the company will develop its website, which will give different
information about the project to the customers and will help in attracting more
and more consumers.
Initially the IT requirements will be
handled in-house, but once the company will expand its reach then the company
will be outsourcing its Information technology so that the company can have a
strong focus on its operations.
