Explain how knowledge
management is an important management issue for the workplace today and
will be more important in the future.
You may disagree with this if so present
the opposite as well. As an additional note if there is a way you can craft this
paper so as to provide some additional information to your workplace please
discuss it with me and let’s see if we can develop a format that will satisfy
both the class and your needs.
The focus for the final paper is Knowledge Management (KM). Your paper must use this topic area as you
summarize the material as we’ve studied it in this course. You should clearly define what this topic is
and then link it to the topics covered in the text, discussions, or your
organization. This age reflects an important
development that may be evident or may still be emerging so, not all will agree
that a new age has dawned. This project
encourages creativity, research, and summary (of the material in this course)
and serves as an appropriate application of the theory and material of this
course.
FORM, LENGTH, SOURCES
The paper should
be written at an appropriate level for this course. Your paper should be:
·
At
least 5 and no more than 8 pages in length (not including references, title
page, index, etc.),
·
Double-spaced,
using Times New Roman 12 point font.
·
You
must use credible sources.
·
This
paper must use an approved research and documentation style, such as MLA, APA
or Chicago Style with footnotes, bibliography, title page, executive summary,
table of contents.
·
It may
contain appendices if you choose.
·
This paper includes a section that requires
your own analysis or conclusions in the final section and demonstrates your
ability to critically assess the resources you’ve selected and the topic that
you’ve presented.
·
If you
cite Internet sources, please verify that they are active so I may review
them. If they are no longer available,
feel free to attach the electronic version for my review. If your citations include lengthy works, such
as published texts, your work should be supported with 15 or more sources. If you only use Web sites, you probably need
16 or more (if they are only one or two pages) to present the topic completely
as well as differing views regarding the conclusions or applications.
Write the paper using the third person. Do not use first or second person pronouns in
your narrative.
There must be at least one citation from
each source listed in the bibliography.
Quality sources may be cited more than once. Therefore, the number of citations will be in
relation to the sources used. You must include the course textbook (Laudon, K. C., &
Laudon J. P. Management information systems: Managing the Digital Firm,
13th Edition) and the style manual you use as references. Minimum of15 references in a paper of this length.
SUMMARY
The summary should
contain an overview of the topic that you’ve selected and its relevance (and
importance) to your work environment (or workplace theory) and it should
emphasize the importance to the professional IS manager or department. This should be the target for your conclusion
in which you propose a solution(s) or course(s) of action. This topic of this
course should be included throughout the paper and citations to the text and
class discussion and lectures is required as well as citations from other
sources.
