Students will be expected to post their first initial discussion board posting by Wednesday of each week. Discussion posts will be graded and late submissions will be assigned a late penalty in accordance with the late penalty policy found in the syllabus. NOTE: All submission posting times are based on midnight Central Time.

The discussion assignment for this week includes a review of the Key Assignment Outline completed by one of your classmates, as well as a substantial response to at least one other student.
Primary Task Response: Your first task is to post your own Key Assignment Outline to the discussion area so that other students are able to review your plan. Attach your document to the main discussion post, and include any notes you feel are appropriate. The purpose of this assignment is to help improve the quality of the Key Assignment Draft you will complete next week.
Respond to Another Student: Review at least 1 other student’s Key Assignment Outline and provide meaningful feedback. Refrain from general feedback, such as simply stating “good job.” Your feedback to other students is most helpful if you not only point out weak areas but also offer suggestions for improvement. The best feedback takes a three-stage approach to identify what was done well, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.

As called for in the instructions and discussed in live chat, here, you will post an outline of your Key Assignment to the Discussion Board as part of your main post. An attachment is fine in this case. Include in your post any necessary notes regarding your outline. Remember to post a min. of at least 1 quality response to a classmate using the three-stage approach to identify the following:
- what was done well
- weaknesses
- areas for improvement
The “Key Assignment” referenced here is the Unit 4 & 5 Individual Projects.
Notice that this DB prompts you to attach your document to the Discussion Board forum. This is the only time it is appropriate to upload an attachment to the DB.
You will be providing feedback to 1 other student’s Key Assignment Outline. You are welcome to post
a summary of your feedback and recommendations to the student on the DB. Consider uploading their
attachment to your reply post and returning their Key Assignment Outline with your feedback
embedded in the actual document. You can use comment boxes, comment balloons, track changes,
etc.

Organizations must be adaptable and responsive to changes in the environment to succeed. Within the organization, individuals and groups must learn to manage change and gain the skills of collaboration and cross-functional sharing of resources and knowledge. Select an organization to research, one where you can gain access to sufficient information to enable you to design an organizational intervention plan.
Research and design an organizational assessment to enhance leadership skills, promote team innovation, and build a culture to support and manage change. Create a PowerPoint presentation that addresses the following:
- Discuss at least 4 change models, and analyze how they address the process of change in an organization.
- Select a method for data collection, and explain your rationale for the selection of this method.
- Design a plan that addresses the need for goal setting. In your design, ensure that it is horizontally and vertically aligned, and discusses the correlation between aligned goals and a collaborative work environment.
- Apply diagnostic skills to the situation and develop a preliminary diagnosis on how to improve the organizational climate related to aligning goals.
- Describe options for presenting feedback to the organization, and select the process that you would recommend for offering feedback on your diagnosis.
- What resistance might you encounter in how your organization will receive the assessment?
- Offer your recommendations for addressing the resistance to change.

Your PowerPoint presentation should address each bullet thoroughly. The content you present must be theoretically sound and reflect an approach to addressing the issue of goal alignment that demonstrates understanding of the process for organizational diagnosis, assessment and designing an organizational intervention. The potential for resistance to change should be recognized and addressed.
