Writing Assignment Two: Walker County Health Trends Memorandum
You get a text message from your Medical Director. As usual he is moonlighting in Huntsville. He has decided that he is spending so much time there, he may want to buy a condo. But before he does, he wants to check on health conditions in the area to be sure he will have a high resale value when he inevitably is forced to move on.
He asks you to prepare a memorandum discussing health trends in Walker County and comparing Walker County with another county (your choice) in Texas. He vaguely remembers some county health web site that might help.
Assignment:
1. Using your favorite search engine, look up County Health Rankings & Roadmaps. If you can’t find it, use this URL: http://www.countyhealthrankings.org/
2. Click on Rankings and enter Walker, TX in Find Your County or State
3. You have two general areas, Health Outcomes and Health Factors.
4. Explore the data for Walker County and one other Texas county.
Write a memorandum between 250 and 500 words describing the factors or outcomes that you feel are important. Please choose at least one major Health Outcome category (example Quality of Life) and one major Health Factor category (example Health Behaviors).
Please use the memorandum format given in this module.
Use Times New Roman, Calibri or Arial font 12 font size. Double space.
